Update and finally movement on VAT
over 1 year ago – Sun, Sep 04, 2022 at 10:49:54 PM

Hey everyone! a few weeks ago we posted in the comments section with a couple of options we're moving forward with regarding EU and UK fulfillment. Here are a couple modifications to that, as we continue to get that resolved. Again, we apologize this is taking as long as it has, we thank you for your abundance of patience with us, and want you to know we are taking steps to avoid this in the future.

1) We're continuing with the vendor to get us our own VAT number since this process was already initiated and moving, however we wanted to continue to explore our other options. (The frustrating part).

2) (The really good part) After an extremely informative and productive meeting directly with Spiral Galaxy (possibly the most helpful and knowledgeable resource during this entire process) we're working directly with Spiral Galaxy to act as a European Fulfillment intermediary. Honestly, if I had been put in touch with this contact from the get-go, I feel this process would have been wrapped up months ago Our Spiral galaxy contact even informed us that they've even had to inform many of the tax authorities of their own policies because things changed so quickly that not everyone knew what they needed to know. They've been helping a number of smaller publishers navigate these incredibly frustrating waters, and we're grateful.

They directed us to another UK VAT application form and process separate from the one with the vendor we'd used and stated they'd seen great success with it when working with American companies and also since it was directly with the government it cuts out another layer of hassle. They are also going to assist us directly to rectify this and get it handled. Additionally, they may be acting as a distributor for a number of other Wet Ink Games products. Honestly, they've been the one significant bright spot in this process, and we're optimistic we're able to get this moving. It's the Labor Day holiday weekend here in the US, but any remaining documentation needed from QML to Spiral Galaxy regarding the freight to the UK should be set up and handled shortly after, so we'll at least have that on the way to the Spiral Galaxy fulfillment center.

and 3) Additionally, we've discussed splitting a print run for larger projects in the future, with one part printing in the US, and another printing in the EU so we can avoid certain additional costs due to freight. This is something we've discussed with at least three other indie publishers as an option, and some have seen great results. We're trying to see how this plays out with some of their other projects, but it seems like a good potential option.

INTO THE CESS AND CITADEL, EU Shipping, GenCon, and MORE!!!

Hey everyone! Update time! Be sure to read all the way to the end to stay in the loop.

Ennie Awards

Wet Ink Games was nominated for three Ennie Awards this year. Voting begins on 7/15 so we'll be sure to send a link out for any of you to vote for Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall, for these categories and for Wet Ink Games as Fan Favorite Company. We would value your support here. More to come!

UK and EU Shipping

We're still working on this and had two meetings with our VAT agency. The plan we mentioned in the last update about this would have been fine if our shipping/distribution partner was set up differently. The good news is we were still able to move forward with the normal process, which hasn't stopped, but we were hoping to have a work around. Our agency says we should be getting more information soon, and we're chomping at the bit to get these out to you. We'll let you know as soon as we hear anything.

STICKERS!

We mentioned stickers in an earlier update to go in the book where the Cacophonous Crowman illustration was supposed to be. We're working to finalize those this weekend, so we can have those available at GenCon for those who will be there, PLUS we'll have information after the con for how those of you who want one mailed.

Into the Cess and Citadel

So many of you have been asking for this project, so we're thrilled to be able to announce this.
