Latest Updates from Our Project:

Second Decal added as an add-on (And a preview of the first)
almost 3 years ago – Fri, May 21, 2021 at 11:59:24 PM

Hey everyone. It was brought to our attention that even though we reached the backer goal to unlock the second decal and marked it as UNLOCKED on the page, it had not been put into the system as an add-on. That has been rectified. If you want to get additional copies of the decal, you can add them by using the Manage Pledge feature and going to add-ons.

Also, as a treat, Charles has the design for the first ready to go so we wanted to share it with you all.

One Week Left! Come Hang Out, and GM Screen
almost 3 years ago – Fri, May 21, 2021 at 01:08:51 PM

We've Entered the FINAL WEEK!!!

So the next seven days are going to be a blast. You all have continued to stun us at every single turn, and the excitement you all have for this resource is just awesome. We love that you all continue to share your stories online, and we'll definitely want to hear them as long as you want to share them. They're just soooooo good. If you want, you can come and share them with us during our LIVE online hangout next week as we wrap up the campaign. Just go and subscribe to the Wet Ink Games YouTube channel and join us when we go live at 8 PM EDT next Thursday night!

GM Screen Questions

So we've had a ton of questions about the GM screen. How big is it? What info is on it? What's the image? etc. Well, we're here to answer those questions and provide a little more clarity with pictures too!

1) How big is it? The GM screen is 16"x10" (40.6 cm x 25.4 cm) with a contoured top to the center and side panels.

2) What information is on it? The screen contains a ton on information, including two giant random tables of things you can encounter in the woods, reasons for gaining exhaustion and a random table for side effects, a streamlined walkthrough of surviving the night, and hunting rules, including tables for major and minor setbacks, and possible boons.

3) What's the image? As of right now, its an opening and path into the deep woods with multiple things which would scare away lesser adventurers than yourself! (You can see the images below). We say as of right now because Charlie may be either updating the image a bit, or may get bitten by the creative bug and want to do a different one, but we're 90% sure its going to be very close to what you see below. (Be sure to check out point 4 below the images though)

4) Any Production Differences from what we see above? YES!!! We're actually using a different vendor to print this than was used last time, mostly because we did it with the Never Going Home screens  and they are SO MUCH BETTER quality. You can see below what we mean.

  • The colors/blacks will be much bolder
  • Both sides of the screen will be gloss instead of matte
  • The material is thicker and sturdier
  • The screen is pre-creased and laminated so it will not show creases like the original.
  • The contour of the side panels and the angle at the bottom allows for a slightly better lean

All in all, we like the results we have with our new printer, and will be using them in the future. Take a look (and please excuse my messy table)

Ten Days to go, Special Events, and Things we Love!

Ten Days to Go!

So, we've got about 10 days left on this amazing project and we're absolutely rockin' this! You all will undoubtedly unlock the last social stretch goal of the 1500 backers (probably today or tomorrow) and then it's just going to be us updating you on some of the cool stuff that is coming in already!

First and foremost, let me tell you that we just got the first completed fiction piece from Sarah Orr Aten's stretch goal and it is awesome! She's already working on her next one. The other adventures are also in process and we'll be updating you as we go on.

Special Events

If you all were supporters of our previous projects, we've done a celebration of the end of the funding period in different ways. We've done Q&A sessions in the project comments section before, and with Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall, we got on a Zoom call with the designers and live streamed it to the Wet Ink Games YouTube channel where we were able to interact directly with our supporters throughout the evening. We're looking at availability now, but we're looking at getting a group of us together for the wrap up of the project and doing the same. It would be from 8 PM to 9:30 PM and we'll definitely be sending more details in a future update.

Projects We Love!

As with all of our other campaigns, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the really cool things out there that other indie designers are doing, and bring some attention to other projects we think may work well with Into the Wyrd and Wild.

Nowhereville

This indie horror RPG is designed by the awesome Craig Campbell (Capers and Die Laughing are awesome! Check them out if you haven't!) We're getting huge "In the Mouth of Madness" vibes from this, and we're diggin' it! Nowhereville is a horror-themed tabletop roleplaying game set in a town that won't let you leave. Terrible things happen in Nowhereville, perpetrated both by monstrous people and literal monsters. But the townsfolk constantly forget about these things. For some reason, you remember. And you fight back. Check it out HERE!!!

Necrobiotic

Penny for a Tale games has put together a pretty excellent team for Necrobiotic. In this game, humanity faces a slow extinction at the hands of a decreasing birth rate, and no one knows why. The decay started around 2020 and in less than thirty years we lost centuries of growth.   One could expect here that the wellbeing of the population is at a profound new low. Add to that the grim reality that their survival relies solely on the use of the animated bodies of their dead loved ones and you begin to realize the bleak and irreparably grim existence the survivors must bear. Check it out HERE!!!

Grio's Guide to the Wildlands

This project is one of two we want to highlight for offering some tools which can also be combined with Into the Wyrd and Wild. Grio’s Guide to the Wildlands catalogues an assortment of natural environments into easy-to-access chapters, each with inspirational imagery, detailed information on dozens of hazards, specific backgrounds and proficiencies for nature-focused characters, and skill challenges for overcoming the threats of the natural world. You can check it out HERE!!!

Wayfarers of the Farwood

The other wilderness setting book we wanted to highlight is Wayfarers of the Farwood. This one looks like it can add a number of interesting player options to 5e campaigns focused on the wilderness setting. Leave civilization behind and step into the primordial! Lor'Zun is a world where the gods roam the land, where magic is raw and unpredictable, and where each journey is a struggle for survival. You are tasked to travel the endless and ever-changing Farwood in your quest to connect the isolated bastions of civilization. You can check it out HERE!

New Adventure UNLOCKED!!!
almost 3 years ago – Fri, May 14, 2021 at 09:28:20 PM

Adventure by Doug Levandowski

Again, you all continue to amaze us. We've blown by the $55k stretch goal and unlocked an adventure by the awesome Doug Levandowski. He and the other adventure writers are already working away and putting some great stuff together. Like all of the other adventures and fiction, this will be included as a PDF for all backers, but if you want it as a physical product, you either need to include it as an add-on or select the "I Want It All" tier.

Stretch Goal Update

We have been absolutely floored by the amount of support for this product. We knew it was a gorgeous and well received product. We knew that many of you have been helping to spread the word far and near. We knew that we had some great stretch goals to make the final product that much better. HOWEVER, we drastically underestimated just how much all of that support would contribute to getting us to where we are.

THAT SAID...You all have completely gone through ALL of our planned stretch goals! We have said from the beginning that we do not want to delay this product and get bogged down with project bloat or anything of that sort. We want to send everything to the printer pretty much as soon as the funds hit our account and get everything to you all as soon as possible. Other than the current social goal of another vinyl decal for getting to 1500 backers, we do not have any other goals planned. We're so happy and thankful for your support and know that it will carry us through to the end of the campaign and beyond.

We'll be talking with the full creative team, and if (and its a BIG IF) there are any other things we want to include, they will be things that will not delay delivery.

A New Adventure UNLOCKED!
almost 3 years ago – Fri, May 14, 2021 at 06:28:05 PM

We've been pretty busy today, but imagine our surprise when we checked in and we notice that we've blown by the goal and unlocked a brand new adventure by the awesome Michele Lee! She's been tossing around ideas, and this is going to be great! We're already beyond halfway to our next goal which will be another piece of fiction in the Into the Wyrd and the Wild setting, and a stone's throw away from our 1,000 backer goal, but we also wanted to point out that we've revealed our $50k stretch goal as well!

Once we reach $50k, we'll have an add on option for a monster reference deck. This deck will be complete with all the stat blocks of all of the new monsters in the Into the Wyrd and Wild book on one side, and the custom art on the other. These reference cards can be used by GMs and players alike in order to easily reference monsters at your table. We'll be trying to get these into distribution as well, depending on interest.

Let's keep it up. You all are awesome.
