PROOFS!!!
over 2 years ago – Thu, Aug 19, 2021 at 04:52:22 AM

Hey everyone!!! The print page proofs came in today! This is where we can give changes or approval to send off to the printing house for them to start pre-press and getting everything ready. Once we provide final sign off, and once any log-jams are broken on their end, then they run these right on through and get them bound. Take a look at some of the images below, and we'll give a little insight as to what you're looking at.

This is a box

Not to be a smartass, but yes, this is a box. Our printer always sends the proofs via UPS and inside is always a big, honkin' envelope full of loose pages and approval sheets.

Standard Cover

This is the standard cover, and it looks GREAT! One thing that you don't see here is the UV spot coating. Pretty much all the lettering, the text box, and the logos will have spot UV gloss coating, which was another layer they'll put on.

Silver Foil Lair for the Special Edition

As you can see in the call out here, this is for the silver foil layer on the front, back and spine. This will be on a black/ebony softtouch, leatherette material.

Here are a few of the layout spreads. You'll see a few dotted lines around the edges. These represent the "safe zone" for printing and the bleed area. When looking at these proofs, one of the first things we check (and that the printer verifies before even getting to this point) is if we have any content outside of the safe zone. This prevents word or other things from getting cut off and excluded.

Here you can just see how well the colors pop. They're so rich, and they look great on the page. All in all, these look great, but now we have to go through and see if there are any little things that need to be tweaked.

Thanks for now! We'll keep you all updated as we move along in this process.

Production Update!
over 2 years ago – Thu, Aug 12, 2021 at 11:55:49 PM

(Hey Everyone! We meant to post this update the other day, but apparently it was saved to drafts as opposed to actually being pushed out to all backers. Sorry for the confusion.)

Monster Decks

Hey all! We received a big shipment the other day full of the Monster Deck! Between this and all the other items coming in that you all unlocked during the campaign, our HQ is getting pretty full. You can see some images below!

SO MANY BOXES!!!

As you can see, there are a ton of individually wrapped decks in each box, and we have about 15 full boxes which were delivered. This allows us to get these out to all you backers as part of your rewards, but also to offer them at retail and conventions in the future. If you missed out during the campaign and when you filled out your BackerKit, you'll be able to get these from us in the future.

Each deck is shrink wrapped and has the great Skull and Roots art on the box. One of the things you can see in the last picture below (besides the awesome art), is the linin texture of the cards. This makes them easy to flip through in order to find the creature you're looking to reference. They feel great in the hand, and we can't wait to show them off in person.

Book Production Update

As of right now, we have the book (standard edition cover and special edition cover) into the printer. They have sent the print (non-bound) proof which should be here any day. As soon as we get that, we'll make another update which will probably include a video so you can see some of that process. You all did an excellent job helping us review in the digital file and we validated those in the materials we sent to them. We need to make sure those are in the proof and then move forward with the rest of our validation.

After that, it's just hurry up and wait. You've seen in our previous update how our printer is backed up and they've already reserved our spot in the queue. Once we have a good word on the completion of printing, you'll all know it too. Following that, the printer will send some to us directly, some to our warehouse, and (most importantly) the allocated number to our logistics and shipping partner. Those will be compared to the list of BackerKit surveys and combined with all other rewards and send out! We'll update you on that schedule too, but just like everything there are dependencies. They'll be able to provide that schedule when we know about the print schedule.

As for all of the items and add-ons we have all but one in hand. The adventures and fiction have all been received and are in editing right now. That step is 50% complete and then it just needs layout and it will be sent to the printer too. That shouldn't be delayed since our slot is already reserved for production, and it should be wrapped up very soon.

T-SHIRT ORDERS CLOSE AUGUST 15th!!!

Please get your orders and payments in by August 15th. You can find instructions in the last update (ALL THE INFO YOU NEED TO KNOW!!!)

GenCon, Origins, Pax Unplugged

So, things are looking a little dicey around the country, but unless something changes drastically you all can visit us at the IGDN booth are GenCon and Origins this year. We'll also be attending Pax Unplugged and sharing a booth with our friends at Game and a Curry (who we partnered with for Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall). We'd love to talk games, discuss characters and campaigns, and even talk shop and game design. Please stop by to see us, and don't hesitate to let us know you're one of our backers. We always love to chat and get to know the people that allow us to keep doing nerdy stuff.

BackerKit Closes FRIDAY!
almost 3 years ago – Tue, Jul 20, 2021 at 10:03:30 PM

Hey all! We just wanted to pass on a few things, and we'll have another quick update later this week:

1) THE BACKERKIT CLOSES ON FRIDAY! - We still have about 200 outstanding surveys MOST of them either at the $1 or $15 mark, so that's not really surprising. HOWEVER, there are a few $35 and $50 pledge levels that don't have shipping information yet. If you haven't yet done so, please complete your survey. If you are having trouble, please reach out to us through a message here on Kickstarter or through the BackerKit support, which is routed directly to us.

2) The GM screens have shipped, so we'll have the full production product to show off once those get to us.

3) Potential (likely) shipping delay - As we're seeing all over the industry there are shipping and manufacturing delays. Into the Wyrd and Wild has managed to avoid much of that due to the fact that we're printing domestically. We're also seeing many other companies turning towards domestic production. This increased volume from other companies (not necessarily gaming), combined with altered working conditions due to regulations, and difficulty with worker retention at the factory has resulted in our usual two - three week print turnaround to around two months. We're working with our representative daily to see if we can be moved higher in the queue and she's doing her due diligence to help us out. We wanted to let you all know as soon as we found out, and we'll be updating you if anything changes and we get definite dates. That said, we're still moving forward with everything and we'll have things in your hands VERY soon.

4) We're still working on finalizing the design for the t-shirt and are figuring out our pre-order window and method. We should have something for you all on that front soon too.
